Don’t Stop the Party: A Complete Guide to Tropical Drink Recipes

While on holiday aboard the Carnival Miracle, I picked up a copy of Don’t Stop the Party: A Complete Guide to Tropical Drink Recipes. The book has over 1000 cocktails, shooters, frozen and flamed drink recipes from the Caribbean Islands and the Florida Keys.  Recipes were compiled by a team of travelers with an extensive knowledge of local bars. The book also includes tips and tricks of setting up a bar, what glasses to use, pouring techniques, bar measurements, serving etiquette , and how much liquor to buy for your party.

Try this one:
Lava Flow
1 oz. Light Rum
1 dash Grenadine
1 slice Lemon
4 oz. Ice
1 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Jamaican Rum
1/2 Lemon Juice
1 wedge Pineapple
1 dash Orange Curacao (Note: I just randomly chose this recipe from the book and one of the destinations of the Carnival Miracle was Curacao. I actually visited the Chobolobo Distillery in Curacao and tasted the Orange Curacao. I highly recommend the Chocolate Curacao.

Directions: Combine with crushed ice. Blend until smooth.
